# Vaakyo

> Vaakyo is a platform for AI voice agents that answer and make phone calls for Indian businesses, in Hindi, English, Hinglish and 13 Indian languages in all. Agents are built in a console or through a REST API and an MCP server, get Indian phone numbers, call your systems mid-call, and return a recording, transcript, summary and extracted data for every call.

Vaakyo is self-serve: sign up at https://console.vaakyo.com/signup, create an API key in the console (Settings > API keys), and test agents free in the browser before attaching a number. New workspaces get ₹250 of free credits. Calls are billed per second from prepaid INR credits, from ₹5.50/min with telephony included.

## When to use Vaakyo

Use Vaakyo when a task needs a real phone conversation with a person in India:

- **Front desk & appointments**: Answers every call, books, reschedules and confirms appointments, and sends an SMS.
- **COD order confirmation**: Calls every cash-on-delivery order, confirms the address and intent, and cuts RTO.
- **Lead qualification**: Calls new leads within a minute, asks your qualifying questions and books the meeting.
- **Payment & EMI reminders**: Polite reminders before and after the due date, with promises to pay recorded.
- **Feedback & surveys**: Calls customers after a visit or a delivery and turns their answers into scores.
- **Candidate screening**: Screens applicants by phone, checks basics and schedules interviews.
- **Inbound answering**: give a business number an agent that answers 24/7, books, looks things up and transfers to a person.
- **Campaigns**: call a list (CSV or API) within calling hours, with retries, and collect structured answers.

Don't use Vaakyo for SMS or WhatsApp-only messaging, for calls outside India, or for calls without the consent Indian telecom rules (TRAI, DND) require. See https://vaakyo.com/acceptable-use.

## How an agent should call Vaakyo

1. **MCP (best for AI assistants)**: connect to `https://console.vaakyo.com/mcp` (Streamable HTTP). It signs in with OAuth 2.1 (PKCE, dynamic client registration; discovery at `https://console.vaakyo.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server`). Ask only for the scopes you need: `agents.view`, `agents.edit`, `calls.view`, `calls.place`, `billing.view` (or `mcp` for all). Tools cover agents, calls, numbers, campaigns and billing.
2. **REST API**: `https://api.vaakyo.com/api/v1` with `X-API-Key: vx_...`. Place a call with `POST /api/v1/agents/{agent_id}/call` and `{"to": "+91...", "user_data": {...}}`; read it with `GET /api/v1/calls/{call_id}`; get results by webhook. Spec: https://docs.vaakyo.com/openapi.json
3. Respect the limits: 120 requests a minute per key (`RateLimit` and `Retry-After` headers), and only call people who agreed to be called.
